From the Director’s Desk

Dear Parents,

I am sure we all hope spring is almost here!!  That means summer is just around the corner. The summer packets for the 6-12 year olds are finished and have been mailed out to all the children who were with us last summer. Our Junior camp which will serve ages 4-5 year olds will have their summer packets by April 1st. This summer is going to be fun and full of new adventures.

Also, I want to thank everyone who participated in our Best Of South Jersey voting competition. The results for the competition will come out in May.

This month we will have two fundraisers. Our annual Yankee Fundraiser will run the first week in March. The second one will be our Chick-fil- A fundraiser which will be on Monday, March 22nd from 5pm to 8pm. All proceeds will go towards art supplies.

On March 24th, we will have our second parent workshop on “Discipline” from 6pm to 7pm. Sign up sheet will be at the front desk.

Finally, during this month the teachers will be introducing different famous authors to celebrate children’s Literature. The first week of March is Dr. Seuss week and we will celebrate his work with Ms. Mita’s famous Cat -n-the hat cake. MM Good!!!

Thank You,

Nina Turner

School Spotlight

Our new family for the month of March is the Keller Family. Michael Keller is currently in our preschool classroom and has been enrolled at Discovery Corner since he was an infant. He has a littler sister named Katie who is currently in our infant room. I hope everyone takes the time to congratulate them on being the new family of the month.

Dr. Seuss Week

To celebrate Dr. Seuss, we ask all the children come to school with their favorite Dr. Seuss book on Friday, March 5th. If any parent is available to volunteer reading in your child’s classroom please inform the teacher on what date and time works for you.

Winter Weather Information

Our teachers follow a set schedule each day. The children will go outside, even in the winter, as long as it is not below 32 degrees. It is for this reason that we remind you to send your child in with weather appropriate gear such as hats, gloves/ mittens, scarves and warm coats. Please make sure you label everything.

As the weather is unpredictable and changing, please make sure to keep at least one full set of warm weather clothing in your cubby. This includes; pants, shirts and socks.

Again, we do go outside everyday- even in the snow- and we wouldn’t want your child to miss out on the fun!! (Remember to bring boots on snowy days)

Just a reminder that in case of inclement weather, we follow the policy this followed by the Cherry Hill Public Schools. Notice of school closings or delayed openings is carried on Cable TV Channel 19, and their web site (http://www.cherryhill.k12.nj.us/)
