From the Director’s Desk

The school year is upon us! September 8^th is right around the corner! I can’t believe it! There is so much excitement in the air!

We have many new families to welcome; it is going to be great! All of the teachers have been working so hard to make everything perfect for the kids! How lucky are we to have such Terrific, dedicated teachers!

Just a reminder, that enrollment packets are due no later than Sept. 2^nd. The sooner everything gets back to us the better. Next week the children will be settled into their new classroom.  Should you have any questions, feel free to call or stop by the office.

In addition, our Back to School Night will be September 15th from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.

Please keep a close eye on the activities listed on the school calendar and stop by the office for details regarding special classes being offered this fall.  Don’t forget to sign your child up for the enrichment programs offered here at Discovery Corner (For example, soccer, dance, gymnastics and Karate).  The classes will be held during business hours. This allows your child the opportunity to participate in special enrichment programs conveniently offered on site.

As a reminder, the new tuition fee will be in effect September 8th.

What’s New!!!!!

Starting In October, Discovery Corner will select a family of the month to honor. We will need that family to bring in family pictures which will be displayed on a bulletin board upfront.
 

New Science Program

Each week our Juniors thru Pre-k will put on their lab coats as young scientist and take on the mysteries of science through their own creative science experiments. They will discover the properties of energy, dig for fossils and learn how sound travels. Our children will experience many more adventures with our hands on science curriculum.

New Music Program

Parsons Music School is collaborating

with Discovery Corner to offer a fun, yet

educational program that will enhance our

children’s social and emotional development 

skills.

Practicing of Dental Hygiene here at Discovery Corner

Starting in October, our juniors through pre-k students will implement daily teeth brushing as a “Good Practice” after lunch. This will re-enforce the importance of practicing good dental hygiene.

This RECIPE is suspiciously Healthy!

½ cup plain yogurt  ¼ tsp. cinnamon

¼ tsp vanilla extract  1 medium apple

Combine all ingredients except the apple.

Core and Cut apple into slices.  Dip slices into the mixture.  Makes 1 serving.
